  • Hypnosis and trance are natural states of absorption or relaxed focus. All of us go in and out of trance many times a day during tasks such as driving, surfing the net or watching TV. This state is simply an altered state of awareness.

  • Hypnotherapy is a process of engaging the subconscious mind in a state of relaxation for the purpose of change.

  • All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, in other words a Therapist will give you instructions to imagine things in a certain way and it’s up to you to follow those instructions. It’s an altered state of consciousness into which you allow yourself to enter, with their guidance.

    Within the hypnotic state, you can by-pass the barriers to your inner thoughts and feelings, and suggestions are acted upon much more powerfully than is possible in a normal state of mind.

  • Food and eating problems such as weight control, emotional eating, food cravings.

    Sports and performance enhancement.

    Menopausal symptom relief.

    Motivation and finding direction or focus.

    Releasing and managing stress.

    Learning or increasing relaxation.

    Changing habits.

    Pain management.

  • Yes, anyone can be hypnotised as long as they want to be and have an ability to concentrate.

  • Virtual Gastric Band Hypnotherapy is a remarkable weight loss program that’s extremely effective (over 90% success rate) in assisting people lose weight.

    VGB hypnotherapy retrains the mind to become satisfied with much smaller portions, so there’s no need for more food. It changes the way you think about food leading to the desired weight loss. Through hypnosis, your subconscious is convinced that you have had a gastric band “fitted” around the top part of your stomach, which restricts the amount of food you can eat. The aim is for your body to respond to this suggestion by making you feel fuller quicker, as if you’ve had the real surgery.

  • The key to success is YOU! No weight loss system will work unless you’re committed to losing weight. You must be prepared to change your eating habits and lifestyle if you’re totally serious about losing weight.

  • Hypnosis works with your subconscious mind, which is naturally protective of your interests. Contrary to popular myths, you’re always in control and able to exit the trance state instantly.

    During the session, you’re always in control and cannot be forced to do or think anything that’s in conflict with your own will.

  • A light state of trance is all that’s needed which is similar to the state of trance you’d experience while watching a movie or driving a car. With each session, you’ll find yourself becoming more at ease with the state of trance – it’s pleasant and becomes more and more natural with each session.

  • Sessions may vary in length from 60-90 minutes where the trance state will move from light to deeper states of trance. It’s likely you’ll remember most of the session but it’s not necessary.

    The conscious mind doesn’t need to remember in order for the subconscious mind to process the changes.

  • Serious psychiatric or mental health problems are referred to a Psychologist, Psychiatrist or GP. Doctors may recommend hypnotherapy for pain management, stress reduction or relaxation.

    Drug addiction, clinical depression and other such problems need to be treated by Doctors and Psychiatrists.

  • I will usually see people 3-5 times, but sometimes more or less sessions are required. The first session lasts approximately 90 minutes, and subsequent sessions are usually 50-70 minutes long.

    Hypnotherapy is an effective therapy, but it also depends on your motivation and desire to change. I want to help you in the minimum number of sessions possible, but we’ll review your progress so that at any time you can make a valued judgement about how the therapy is progressing.
